PKU Astrophysics Colloquium 2012, held at KIAA and at Fragrant Hill Hotel on
October 19 - 21, 2012, was focused on three topics: pulsar searching and timing
with FAST, applications to gravitation/interstellar medium, and neutron-star
astrophysics. R. N. Manchester from ATNF, B. J. Rickett from UCSD, and P.
Haensel from Copernicus Center were invited to talk on the corresponding
subject. Faculty and Postdocs from KIAA and DoA of PKU, as well as some
researchers from sister institutes attended this colloquium. Discussions of
pulsar study in the FAST era were highlighted. It was agreed that FAST will
prompt pulsar studies and the whole radio astronomy significantly. More pulsar
people, more software and hardware preparations are needed. This colloquium was
organized by D. Li (NAOC), R. N. Manchester (ATNF) and R. X. Xu (PKU).
